Pre-screening
A coach would organise for an athlete to meet with a physio in order to complete a screening of an athlete. This would help a coach identify and preivous muscle weakness or muscle pattern issues that he/she may have. Any previous injury or possible injury can be identified. This would also help a coach to understand the individualised weakness of the athlete, helping the coach to create a training program that is suitable for the athlete. This is very important for a sprints coach, as it is very easy to overload athletes, if they have pre existing injury or past injuries.

Skill and Technique
The main Skill and/or Technique in Sprinting is the whole mechanics of running. A coach would try and sustain a good base technique in an athlete make minute changes as the athlete progresses. The athlete must have a minimum range of motion to competitive the run with good form or technique. Coaches would then look to see if an athlete has completed everything in training that they need to in order to perform at a competition. For this to happen, there must be a controlled increase in the volume of training an athlete does. As the athlete improves their skill, they become more bio-mechanically sound. The athlete should have strong proprioceptive abilities and have physical awareness, in order to perform the skill of sprinting without any issues. Management if injury is important, as the athlete does not want to aggravate an injury.

Warm Up
The warm up facilitates the heating of muscles and the increase in core body temperature, increasing the circulation to the muscles. This helps to prevent injury or re-injury in sprinters.
Stretching
Stretching is completed to ensure there is the required range of motion that is needed to perform the task of sprinting. Range of motion activities such as leg swings can help to identify if an athlete has the appropriate range of motion needed in order to sprint.
Cool Down
Cool down facilitates the removal of by products generated during bouts of physical activity (sprinting). Cool Down or warm down is a form of active recovery, which increases the rate of removal of lactate in the muscles. Also helps to promote a smoother post activity body temperature decline, dampening of central nervous system activity and reduction in post exercise muscle soreness (DOMS)
